Creative Challenge

At Fresh Produce, everything connects to ideas. No matter your role, how you approach a creative challenge is important. The Famous Creative Challenge gives us an opportunity to see how you would approach a challenge related to the role you’re interested in.

New Business Development

As the Famous new business development intern, you’ll evaluate contacts and businesses to find good opportunities for the Famous team. To find the right fit, it’s important to align what Famous does best with clients who need and value their work. See some Famous work here.

Creative Challenge*
Show us how you’d approach new business by (1) identifying a good opportunity for the Famous team, and (2) leaving a voicemail to request a meeting with your lead. To begin, look through the three fictional leads below and choose one of them to pursue.

Client Lead

A Canvas is our term for a collaborative document that establishes a foundation and direction for your ideas. As the Famous client lead, you’ll write a Canvas doc for all of your projects, and your clients will sign off before the real work begins. To write a good canvas doc, you need to listen well, take care of the details, and ask great questions.

Creative Challenge*
It’s up to you to submit a client-ready draft of a Canvas doc. To begin, read the Client Email. The email includes some of your Canvas information, but you may need to do some digging to fill in the details. Once your Canvas is complete, finish your submission by writing an email back to your client to accompany your Canvas draft.

Good Morrow!

It was an honor to collaborate with you on the Fall Equinox Feast. Attendance surpassed our expectations, and our board was delighted by your team’s efforts. As we begin preparations for Winter Solstice Warfare, I’m sending along a few details to help your fellowship embark upon the work ahead.

As you know, this is our grandest gathering of the year. It is more than feasting and merriment; it is our sole full fantasy LARP experience. Though it remains our most immersive event, attendance tends to wane, as it requires a greater commitment than our spring and fall feasts. We’d welcome your counsel on ways to rally more of our spring and fall participants to attend, while also drawing new adventurers into the fold.

We view this event as an opportunity to further enrich our characters’ stories and weave additional depth into the tapestry of the greater kingdom. To aid that quest, we’re increasing our budget from $5,000 to $7,500 to help expand our reach across the realm.

If you could take an initial pass at a Canvas document, our board will review it and add any details that may further illuminate the path ahead. We’d love to approve the Canvas by next week, so your team has ample time to work its magic before the campaign begins.

We eagerly await the chance to quest together once more!

With gratitude,

Gary Grumson

Copywriting

Over a decade ago, Mike and Ted pitched a sixty-second radio spot to Perkins Storage and Transfer. Ted wrote the copy, and Mike read it over an arbitrarily chosen music bed. Perkins gave them the thumbs up that day and officially became one of Fresh Produce’s first long-term clients. Since then, Fresh Produce has been writing and producing a new Perkins radio spot every other month, using the same voice, the same music bed, and the same made-up tagline and call to action.

Creative Challenge*

It’s up to you to write a sixty-second Perkins spot. Don’t forget to include the two lines below somewhere in the ad and use the keyword as a jumping-off point. Other than that, the copy is up to you.

Graphic Design

Since 2009, Ipso Gallery has been an important part of our culture at Fresh Produce. Ipso allows us to celebrate ideas and pursue projects of interest, for fun or challenge, while showcasing artists we’re curious about and have an affection for. In fact, branding, promoting, and hosting Ipso shows is one of our favorite things to do around here.

Creative Challenge*

We’d like you to design your take on the “Cake Parade” Ipso Show by designing a promotional poster and vinyl sign. Your final poster design should include the show name, the location, and the reception date and time (details below). The vinyl sign features the show name and should be submitted by mocking it up on our Ipso sign.
