Night Light

Sophia Weisensel often paints what she knows—family, friends, and small-town, Midwest landscapes. But by displacing her subjects, Weisensel adds complexity to the relationship between person and place. Night Light explores how stark and ominous environments create tension and illuminate new narratives for otherwise familiar subjects.
