Tom Bates joined Fresh Produce in 2019 after graduating from South Dakota State University. As a member of our design team, Tom lends his creative energy to communicating visual ideas, from logos and branding to multimedia campaigns. A mentor for up-and-coming designers, Tom serves as student liaison for the AIGA South Dakota board.

I loved that we had a small FP team on for the project. We created a well oiled interview and design process that we were able to navigate committee feedback and approval successfully. Our process we followed allowed us to defend our design decisions and artistic directions based on values that the University could align with. We’ve since refined this logo process further and it’s become a repeatable plan that we can use again and rely on to produce other successful logo and branding projects.
