A Bright Note Can Inspire a Community 
Speaker Series Rebrand | Event Promotion

In 1993, John T. Vucurevich had an idea: what if his community could connect to and understand the world better from their home in Rapid City? That idea turned into the John T. Vucurevich Foundation’s annual speaker series. In 2025, looking to inject some energy into its signature event, JTVF partnered with Fresh Produce to re-brand the evening.

Bright Note is inspired by the well-worn note Mr. Vucuverich kept in his wallet that reminded him to “make a piece of the world a brighter place.” The brand merges the world of inspirational speakers and the daily philanthropic mantra of Mr. Vucuverich. Bright Note is an opportunity to dream big, ask questions, and take note of ways to make a piece of the community a brighter place.

Beginning with legendary astronomer Carl Sagan, the series lives up to its reputation with annual speakers who make a big difference with actions that shine through. The art direction gives locals something to be proud of and connected to by integrating subtle nods to the Black Hills landscape along with hidden details within local landmarks. The messaging centers the series around a central idea, allowing a diverse range of speakers to fit within the Foundation’s greater mission.
