Working in advertising is a bunch of fun. Every day, you collectively design new and interesting ways to help people articulate and promote their brands. If you’re lucky, you do it with a crew of people who share a sensibility and support each other through the highs and lows of creative pursuits.
While the efficacy of our work is typically judged against tangible results like client objectives and intangible things like client delight, once a year we elect to have it judged on the merit of its creative execution by the American Advertising Federation–the nation’s oldest ad industry trade association. Then we pile into theaters or convention centers across South Dakota to celebrate some of our favorite work with folks we affectionately call The Colony.
This year, 12 different members of The Colony picked up an award from AAF, a few of them did really well, and Fresh Produce received its 11th Best of Show since 2007 for having a Faulk-ton of Fun.
Thanks to the AAF South Dakota and AAF Black Hills for producing both shows, L&S in Sioux Falls for the entertainment, and to all of the other professionals who attended both events to celebrate and support our industry.
Most of all, thanks to The Colony for having a blast creating stuff together and sharing the delight the only way we know how: by throwing down a night of karaoke at The Corner Pub.
